5 out of 5 stars Skeptical at first, but now a believer!!!   March 11, 2010

I was looking for a way to toss faster pitches to my daughter who has moved up to "girl pitch" fastpitch softball from the slow underhand coach pitch last session. I looked at many machines in various price ranges. It was funny, because a sales person at a sporting goods store knew very little about the display model and said he has never seen anyone buy one before. Obviously, he too was skeptical of this product. After a little research, the things I liked about this was it requires no electricity (try finding a power outlet at the local ball field), it's compact and simple to use. The other thing I like about it, is that it throws every kind of ball. Regular baseballs and softballs, wiffle balls and batting practice softer balls. I haven't tried a football yet, but one is pictured on the box. Anyway, when I took it out of the box and assembled it and threw the first pitch, I was amazed at the kind of pop that the ball had. I set it up about 35 ft. from my daughter and it threw consitant strikes at a pretty good speed on the medium setting. The pitches were low and flat just like a fastpitch softball windwill pitch. The only downside that I can see is, it does take a little fine tuning of moving a few of the adjustments around to get it right, but once you get the hang of it, you can throw many different speeds and pitch placements. Another thing I like about it, is that although vertually every pitch is a strike once set, they are not exactly in the same spot every time, which makes it more realistic. By the way, wiffle balls fly in at speeds greater than the listed 45 mph and some were even curving, dropping and rising. This thing will also launch some nice fly balls and grounders for fielding practice. If you are a little league or softball coach, I would highly recommend this baby for batting practice and for moms and dads looking to give their superstar realistic BP. I think my daughter, now 9 years old and I will get many years of use out of this.

5 out of 5 stars Great Product, Worth Buying   January 29, 2010

This is a great product. I play on a adult club baseball team. We use this for batting practice before a our games. It throws more consistent strikes than is humanly possible (balls are sometimes high and low of the strike zone but almost never inside or outside). Lunging at balls out of the strike zone is no way to prepare for a game. And you don't worry about one of the players pitching BP and tiring his arm before play. At the maximum setting, the machine throws about as hard as you would toss BP. We placed our machine on a the base of an old movable basketball net (net and backboard removed of course). This raised the machine to adult height and allows us to roll it on an off the field. The results speak for themselves. Our team batting average went up 60 points last season and we hit more homeruns than we had in years.

5 out of 5 stars Saved our Family!!   March 24, 2010

I love to hit softballs and our kids are getting to the age of being able to participate. The only issue I had was that my wife can't really pitch slow-pitch balls. Hence, I would get frustrated when she pitched to me..

This thing works great to calibrate and throw 6-10 foot pitches to me. I was amazed it can do this and coupled with being able to pitch baseball and softballs for kids leagues makes it a bonus.

Easy to assemble and even easier to carry around. Great addition to anyone's sports equipment if you have youngers kids or Dad's just trying to relive their glory days!!

5 out of 5 stars Highly recommend Louisville Slugger Pitching Machine   May 19, 2010

My two boys really enjoy it. They see so many more pitches that they can hit (as Dad is a bit more wild than the machine).

Easy to set up and to use.

PS Wish I had one of these back in the day!

5 out of 5 stars Great Little Machine   June 22, 2010

This thing is a great little machine lightweight, portable, easy to put together. I coach my son's team and this machine is used for parts of their games as well as certain tournaments. It throws a predictable pitch from a low angle (beating coach pitch). Lift up on your foot to control the height of the pitch (or use the macro or micro adjustments). Position the ball as a four-seamer and use the same ball position to get the same pitch. Highly recommended.
